The Corporate + Sports Climate Influence Opportunity | Audiogram
Sponsorships should be climate-values aligned and massively supporting athletes

Friends! I have found that writing my ideas and sharing my climate influence enthusiasm via a traditional newsletter actually keeps me from posting. So, I’ve decided to start doing this audiogram style post instead, where I’ll just include quick links. I guess I just prefer to talk (who knew?)
Also, I’m - for now - going to make this newsletter free for all and pause subscriptions. I’d MUCH rather build up a broad listenership and *get the conversations going* than aim for an income stream. (That is not to say I may not one day return to a paid subscription model, to be clear.)
Let me know what you think of my shift.

OK. Onward…

Leicester Nirvana aspires to lead the way in the race towards sustainability and has been a forerunner on the agenda at a grassroots level for some time. Having the kudos of developing a partnership with De Montfort University and the United Nations, as well as being one of the only grassroots clubs to have measured their scopes 1, 2 and 3 as part of our carbon footprint. We recognise the urgency of the issue and are committed to playing our part in creating a greener future. But to truly effect change, we need genuine diversity in every conversation and decision-making process. Particularly those from an inner city background as these views and life experiences bring a different perspective.
- BBC coverage of Spanish footballer, Hector Bellerin
On a personal level, Bellerin bikes to work from his home in central Seville, recycles, follows a vegan diet, uses public transport and carefully researches any purchases. One of the "greener" things he encourages most, however, is to vote.
And, the #Swellcast I mentioned, where I’m experimenting with having deeper backroom conversations about the climate influence insights and examples I see. Here’s a link to my most recent one about that Hector Bellerin news. It’s free, but you do have to create an account to start conversing. I think it’d be worth it, friends! This is not just another social media platform. It’s about doing back and forth discussions on our favorite topics, in YOUR time. I’ll respond in my time. There’s no performative, in the moment, grandstanding,… just fun talk!
You know where to find me in the meantime.
